Nordstrom Yorkdale Opening Gala with Daniel et Daniel

Nordstrom has finally made its way to Toronto with its first location at the Toronto Eaton Centre & its second store debuting last week in Yorkdale mall’s new expansion wing. After hearing such a buzz about the Nordstrom opening gala at Toronto Eaton center we were elated when our friends at Daniel et Daniel Catering & Events invited us to attend Nordstrom Yorkdale Opening Gala.  

If you are not familiar with Daniel et Daniel, they have been in the catering & event planning business for over 35 years. Their business has flourished in Toronto’s competitive catering market mostly through word of mouth & the results they deliver.

The Nordstrom Yorkdale Opening Gala was a spectacular event in terms of size and luxury. The party took place throughout the 196,000 square feet Nordstrom store, with people enjoying beautiful cocktails and canapés throughout the night.

Daniel et Daniel set up shop on each of the 3 floors of the store, with hidden popup kitchens and creative food stations. On each floor, guests could enjoy a range of tasty bites from food carts, or sip on different featured cocktails.

Fun, interactive food experiences could be found throughout the store, including a “Burger and Sushi conveyor belt” and a liquid nitrogen cocktail bar. Despite the large scale of this event, the catering was run like a well oiled machine.

Behind the scenes, in the popup kitchens, it was a busy, but very organized environment. The catering staff worked all night to seamlessly create tasty dishes and feed thousands of hungry guests. We were very impressed by the high standards set by the team at Daniel et Daniel.  Each food and drink item was creative and well thought out, and they were able to satisfy thousands of guests in a few hours.
