Dufflet After Dark: All You Can Eat Cake!
Sometimes you just need cake! Well, in my books – it’s all the time. Thankfully there’s Dufflet After Dark at Dufflet-Beach that offers all you can eat cake. Yes, ladies and gents: All You Can Eat Cake!
A table full of cakes! Initially, I imagined a football field worth of cakes to choose from but instead there are 7 cakes and 2 savory items. It may not be 30 types but it offers just the right selection for anyone to indulge in. But really, who can eat 30 slices of cake in 3 hours? If you can….. please be my friend.
For $25 a person, you get:
- A Glass of Wine (red, white, or sparkling)
- Cake…. Cake…. Cake…. & more cake !
- Tea or Coffee (drip, Americano or Espresso)
Fantastic deal considering there’s a variety and you get 2 beverages included! There’s no seating time limit so it’s not like they’ll rush you out after 2 hours like regular buffets.
Located by Woodbine Beach, this storefront has a charming seating area at the back with views to a decorative themed backyard. Each table has a single rose with candlelight emanating a romantic feel. Wonderful place for a date – OR Tinder double date.
This is the only place in Toronto that offers AYCE cake concept and is only available on Friday nights between 8pm – 11pm. With limited seating, I’d recommend making a reservation in advance because people are staying till the end and trying each kind (at least I did).
Cakes:
- Chocolate Truffle Cake
- Carrot Cake
- Pink Velvet Cake
- White Chocolate Mousse
- Pecan Pie
- Lemon Coconut Cake
- Four Fruit Pie
Great variety. My favorite was their most popular carrot cake (love the cream cheese frosting!). Their white chocolate mousse was to die for also – not too sweet and light! I’m not a big fan of pies but was tasty none the less.
Savory Empanadas:
- Grilled Vegetable Goat Cheese (vegetarian)
- Braised Short Rib with Merlot Reduction
2 savory items to help relieve your palette from all the sugar. Served cold, filling had amazing flavor but wasn’t as flaky as I anticipated.
After experiencing this, I’m ready to go back. Next time, I’ll make sure to eat a light dinner before stuffing my face with cake because the empanadas weren’t substitutes for dinner. Would liked to try items from their Queen of Cake Collection and Cheesecakes next time.
All in all, life’s too short to say no to cake… so bring a friend and eat cake because it’s somebody’s birthday somewhere
